“The Joy of the Quickie”: Steps on Where to Get Some Quickly

By Kristen Fogle
Because your time is precious…enter “The Joy of the Quickie.” This concise little companion (by Kate Stevens through Adams Media) is a delightful jaunt through the many places one can canoodle (and then some). From the drive in to the drive thru, nothing is neither safe nor sacred (yes, church is in there too).
Divided up by places one can satisfy one’s longing, each place is broken up into several sections. There is a “Risk Factor” assigned—for instance, AA Meeting is a 5 out of 10. “Do It (Now)” explains how to enact the scenario and gives practical advice. (Something to think about at a “Christmas Tree Farm”: “You don’t want to go too early in the year, because you can’t hide your quickie behind knee high samplings.”) Considerations are humorous occurrences that could result from your sexcapade. (“Farm”? “Farmers with pitchforks.”)
Like a quickie, this book is great in just about any context. True story, I just gave it as a wedding gift. (There were also a few good bottles of wine in there, so no, they didn’t just get a snarky “how to” manual.) There’s also always that friend that likes to stock up on the random literature (the coffee table stockpiler, I like to say), and this is a great present for them. Also excellent during white elephants/the random gift exchange. Let’s hope grandma or your stodgy boss at The Macaroni Grill gets a hold of this one. For under $13 can you afford not to make things weird?
An instant classic. Fun for many. Good times to be had.
Pick up “The Joy of the Quickie” at www.amazon.com, www.adamsmedia.com, or www.barnesandnoble.com.
